Maciste (1915) by Luigi Romano Borgnetto and Vincenzo Denizot is the first film in which the muscular figure of Maciste (already played with great success by Bartolomeo Pagano in Cabiria) gains the leading role. The result is a breathtaking action film (produced by Giovanni Pastrone), not without comic and dramatic moments, in which the gentle (but certainly not tender) giant puts himself at the service of a young girl to save her from an international intrigue.

Arto fantasma is back, with 38 tracks featuring drums, guitar and the low frequencies of two double basses and a bass clarinet to match the energetic quality of Maciste.
The project has been funded by the National Museum of Cinema of Torino for event "Omaggio a Pastrone" and premiered live at Cinema Massimo, Torino, on January 7th, 2019.
